How the Program Works

Learn more about how you can receive a free computer through the Connecting Madison program.

How can I get a free computer?

If you live at an address eligible to purchase low cost, high speed Internet from ResTech and attend free technology training classes provided by DANEnet, then you qualify. You can order your computer system at a DANEnet class. It will be built and delivered for you to pickup at a local distribution site. Limit of one computer per household.

Where can I take computer classes?

DANEnet is offering free digital literacy workshops at Madison community centers and other anchor institutions. The workshops cover basic computer skills, consumer safety, internet privacy, email, cloud storage and basic office software. Some workshops are offered in Spanish and with Hmong translation. Contact DANEnet for their class schedule.

What if I don't qualify for free computers?

If you don't live in a Connecting Madison area, you can still get a great price on refurbished computers at Cascade. Shop our online store for introductory computer systems as low as $75. You may also qualify for discounts if you meet certain income threshholds. Learn more at DANEnet classes or visit Cascade's online store for details.
